Barroso fears powerful 'European president'

With US President Obama's woes continuing to pile up around the globe, many are calling for a new world order.  If that weren't enough, with the dollar in a desperate decline, the UN is calling for a new reserve currency.  This ripple effect has rumors swirling that Russia, China, and France are secretly conspiring with OPEC to replace US currency for oil trading.

Grant it, talk of a new world order has always lurked in the shadows.  It didn't really take much root until former US President George H. Bush made mention of it in a speech in the early 90s.  But, in all my years in Bible prophecy, I have never heard so much open talk about ushering in a new world order.  This has been magnified by the many nations and organizations that have blatantly told the Obama administration "no' on multiple occasions.  Mr. Obama's willingness to compromise with enemy nations has given the rest of the world the courage to just say no without fear of reprisal.  This brings up serious concerns regarding the future of US dominance on the world stage.  Although the US will remain the global military and economic leader, I do see the day coming when the world will conspire with the Antichrist to eventually destroy them once and for all (Mystery Babylon).

Here's a startling study...the nation of Islam has grown worldwide to claim one out of every four souls. Of course, if their devoted followers are anything like so-called Christian believers, that total number can be reduced by another fifty percent.   Here's an excerpt of the study:

The report provides further evidence that while the heart of Islam might beat in the Middle East, its greatest numbers lie in Asia: More than 60 percent of the world's Muslims live in Asia.

About 20 percent live in the Middle East and North Africa, 15 percent live in Sub-Saharan Africa, 2.4 percent are in Europe and 0.3 percent are in the Americas. While the Middle East and North Africa have fewer Muslims overall than Asia, the region easily claims the most Muslim-majority countries.  AP

At this time there are roughly 3-4 million Muslims in the US.  US based Islamic religious leaders make no bones about the fact that their goal is to convert the US voting majority to their religion by the year 2050.  This sounds like a stretch to many American's, but it's happened time and again in other countries (Turkey).  This is partially what the Palestinian right of return to Israel is all about.  Of course, it also never hurts to have as many allies as possible within an enemy country prior to an attack either.

This is a very big story.  European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, has come out in opposition to a powerful EU president.  He would love to have the new presidents powers limited to a ceremonial type position.  He certainly does not want him to be called the president of Europe.  Here's what he had to say today regarding this newly created position:

"I am sorry, there will not be a president of Europe. There will be, if we have Lisbon, the president of the European Council. It is important to understand that point because sometimes I think there are some ideas about certain derives institutionelles [institutional drifts]," he [European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso] said.

Loosely defined in the treaty itself, talk about the nature of the president's role has become one of the main topics in Brussels in recent days, as national governments deliberate whether the post should go to a well-known personality from a big country or a more discreet politician.

The exact job description will be written by the first person holding the job, with ex British prime minister Tony Blair among the most-mentioned candidates for the post. It is widely agreed that a politician of Mr Blair's standing would take the post far beyond the largely administrative role foreseen in the treaty.  EUobserver

Three countries are leading the campaign against a powerful president, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.  Some see their resistance more as an anti-Blair campaign than a call for a president with restricted powers.  Few expect a man of Mr. Blair's global stature to allow such a move to limit him.  This has all the makings of a potential battle within the European Council and possibly beyond.  If this is the case, this falls eerily in line with Daniel 7:24 which foretells of three nations that will oppose the Antichrist's power, and in the end, will have to be subdued.  Could these three nations be the prophesied conspirators?
