Ahmadinejad: Whoever controls the Mideast controls the world
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in a Tehran
conference Saturday that whoever controls the Middle East controls the world,
the semi-official Fars News Agency reported.
In a speech during a conference marking 30 years to the Islamic Revolution,
Ahamdinejad reportedly implied that Iran is the top power in the Middle East.
"Now the question is who has the last say in the Middle East? Well, of
course, the answer is clear to every one," Ahamdinejad said. Haaretz.com
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stated Saturday at a conference in Tehran that the Middle East was the most important region and whoever controlled it would control the world.
This has been written in the pages of Bible prophecy for thousands of years and will play out in the final world battles to come in these last days. I am convinced that the Lord is very close to calling His people home, and when He does, He will not tarry (Hebrews 10:37). But in order for you to go you must be ready ahead of time.
Hearing these words from Ahmadinejad makes me excited because I believe the Lord is near, but at the same time, it makes me shake because I still have loved ones who are not prepared. If you don't know the Lord today, friend your time is growing short.
Today, Russia solidified another piece of the prophetic puzzle by signing a $1.8 billion dollar arms deal with Libya. If you are not aware, when Russia leads the Islamic nations in the prophesied future attack against Israel (battle of Gog & Magog; Ezekiel 38 &39), Libya will be one of the nations who will be in that alliance.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords: Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet (Ezekiel 38:3-5):
Right now there is a considerable amount of unrest developing in Russia over high living costs and unemployment. As many as 10,000 rallied today calling for Prime Minister Vladimir Putin to resign. Russia, like much of the world, is enduring painful economic problems that some feel could spill over.
In other news, the US has pledged to push hard to get Israel and the Palestinian Authority back to the negotiations table in 2010. Right now, Palestinian Leader Mahmoud Abbas is looking at a new US peace concept that would call for indirect talks where the US would shuttle between the two regions acting as a proxy for the PA. In an attempt to bolster Abbas, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to release hundreds of Fatah prisoners as a gesture. At the same time, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak will be putting pressure on Abbas to accept the plan and restart negotiations. Many see this as away for Abbas to get back to the negotiations table without going back on his pre-condition that Israel freeze all construction into the West Bank and Jerusalem.
Frankly, I sense that Israel believes that a Palestinian state is inevitable and the alternative (one state solution) would be worst. With a one state solution, the citizens of the West Bank would become Israeli citizens, be governed by Israel, and acquire all the rights and privileges to citizens including the right to vote. A one state solution could never be accepted by Israel for obvious reasons.
I also believe Israel senses a shift in the world community toward the creation of a Palestinian state. This shift is most noticeable in the EU. They have come very close on several occasions to recognizing a Palestinian state. I don't have to say that this would be a nightmare for Israel in that it would likely lead to a domino affect across the globe...and once a Palestinian state is born there will be no turning back. Jerusalem will then follow and the world will call for and expect it to be divided.
How long before this begins to take shape is anyone's guess, but that day is coming and sooner than we think.
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. (Revelation 22:20)
