Israel fears Obama heading for imposed Mideast settlement
U.S. President Barack Obama's demands during his meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last Tuesday point to an intention to impose a permanent settlement on Israel and the Palestinians in less than two years, political sources in Jerusalem say.
Israeli officials view the demands that Obama made at the White House as the tip of the iceberg under which lies a dramatic change in U.S. policy toward Israel (Haaretz.com).
The US is about to cross a Biblical read line they will eternally regret. The red line...Jerusalem! If this report is true, and the US is about to force Israel into splitting Jerusalem, they are in for a great and mighty destruction.
The Bible is clear that in the last days Jerusalem would be a major stumbling stone to many nations, but only those who tried to "burden themselves with it" would be cut to pieces (Zechariah 12:2-3).
Frankly, I believe the US will turn out to be the great whore of the Bible known as Mystery Babylon (Revelation 14, 16-18). The Bible says this great and mighty end times nation will essentially rule the world up until its demise. They will be rulers of the world during the time Israel is reborn and Jerusalem is recaptured by the Jews.
The US seems to be hastening its destruction by invoking the curse of Zechariah 12:2-3 upon itself. If the Bible is true, and we know it is, this scripture defines a crushing future for the US and any other nation who takes part in splitting Jerusalem. Lesser signs of this curse have been plaguing the US for years and I'm afraid the Obama administration may finally bring it down on this great country once and for all.
Of 10 demands posed by Obama, four deal with Jerusalem: opening a Palestinian commercial interests office in East Jerusalem, an end to the razing of structures in Palestinian neighborhoods in the capital, stopping construction in Jewish neighborhoods in East Jerusalem, and not building the neighborhood of Ramat Shlomo. But another key demand - to discuss the dispute's core issues during the indirect talks that are planned - is perceived in Jerusalem as problematic because it implies that direct negotiations would be bypassed. This would set up a framework through which the Americans would be able to impose a final settlement (Haaretz.com).
The US is also spearheading a campaign that would isolate Israel from the rest of the free world if its demands are not met. At this moment, they are successfully petitioning the European Union to support this action against Israel. The EU Big Three, the UK, France, and Germany all seem to be onboard with the plan. Look for many other nations in and outside of the European Union to gleefully back this campaign.
This is what I see for the future. The Obama administration will continue to twist Israel's arm until they give into their demands. Whether or not the US will go as far as imposing international sanctions against Israel is doubtful, but I wouldn't count that option out just yet. In the end, the US will get their way in exchange for guaranteeing Israel's security. Israel will agree to the immediate creation of a Palestinian state and the promise of ongoing talks that will eventually lead to east Jerusalem becoming the future Palestinian capital. I'm sure a timeline will be developed for which both criteria will have to be met.
Of course, Israel could defy the US and the world, but in my opinion, that would be contrary to the peace and safety Israel will be living in just before they are confronted with the Battle of Gog and Magog (Ezekiel 38).
