Calvary Prophecy Report

A report in a Jordanian newspaper suggesting the Palestinians want to see an international force deployed along the borders of any future Palestinian state has sent ripples around the diplomatic world over the weekend.

The newspaper Al-Ghad quoted Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas as saying that he will enter direct peace talks with Israel if the Israelis accept in principle the deployment of foreign troops around the borders of what are presently referred to by the international community as the occupied territories.

Some journalists are suggesting this idea was already discussed and agreed during talks between Abbas and former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, before the negotiations ended in December 2008 (xinhuanet.com).

This report by a Jordanian newspaper that the Palestinians want an international force guarding the Israeli-Palestinian border is coming and probably sooner than we think.  According to multiple reports, the US backs such a deployment of multi-national troops and PA officials say they would be willing to sit down to direct talks if Israel came on board with the idea.  I have to believe the US will be exerting heavy pressure on Israel to accept the proposed deployment.  Russia has also sent fifty armored troop transport vehicles to Jordan for the new Palestinian state.  As of now, the international contingent would be made up of Jordanian troops, Palestinian personnel, and a group of multi-national troops.

In an article published by WorldNetDaily, it was suggested that all indications point to a sooner than later peace agreement.   "PA officials said talks are at such an advance stage that the U.S. has floated the idea of Israel leasing land in the Jordan Valley after the establishment of a Palestinian state that would see the PA officially take over that territory. Israel has not responded to that proposal, the PA officials say (WorldNetDaily)."  Although, PA officials don't expect for a Palestinian state to be created by the end of the year, they do expect big moves to take place, which would include the turning over of much of the land that would make up the state. 

This is a bold report by WorldNetDaily that I hope is accurate.  At some point in the peace process it will be true, whether or not this will be the time is the question.  I tend to believe it is if for no other reason than the fact that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu needs to be in direct talks before the September 26th building freeze deadline ends.  According to Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, the freeze will definitely end on the scheduled deadline or several influential parties could quit Netanyahu's government.  It would mean political suicide for Netanyahu if that were to happen.

This week marks Tisha B'Av, the date of the destruction of both the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem.  Some in the world of prophecy believe that something significant is going to happen during this week.  Whether it does or not is to be seen.  Frankly, I believe something noteworthy has already taken place regarding the Temple.  A recent poll was taken asking Israeli's if they want the third Temple to be built?  Forty-nine percent of the respondents said they were in favor of the Temple being built while only twenty-three percent opposed the idea.  However, forty-eight percent said they would not support an active attempt to regain the Temple Mount.

This will all change in the near future.  I do not believe the Islamic world would ever give Israel one inch of the Temple Mount under any circumstance.  Frankly, I believe Israel will regain it by a Devine miracle from God (Ezekiel 38 & 39).  At this point in time, Israel as a nation is living in spiritual darkness, but one day, their eyes will be opened to the true God of heaven.  When that day comes, nothing will stop them from rebuilding their Temple.
