Calvary Prophecy Report

Palestinian Leader Mahmoud Abbas is calling the upcoming direct talks an "historic opportunity" and encourage his Israeli peace partners to "not to miss this historic opportunity." Of course, this is just an attempt to shift the blame back on Israel before the impending breakdown in talks occurs in the weeks or months ahead. Abbas has made it clear that direct talks will not go forward if the settlement building freeze is not extended, and it must include East Jerusalem. 

Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman says, come September 26th, the ten-month freeze will end. But as reported in my last article, the US and Israel are at this time in secret negotiations that would extend the freeze while allowing some limited building. If I were a betting man, I would have to believe the latter will be true come the deadline. I doubt there will be much fanfare around the extension and don't be surprised if East Jerusalem is included in the freeze.

Debkafile is reporting that US President Barack Obama is weighing offering Israel a nuclear security umbrella in exchange for them accepting a nuclear Iran. Former CIA officer Bruce Riedel, who is very close to President Obama, indicated that the four part security deal would make Israel one of the most powerful nations in the world. Here is a summary of the security proposal:

On the other hand, French President Nicolas Sarkozy is proposing that world powers unite and protect Middle East nations that feel threatened by Iran's nuclear program.  "If a credible agreement cannot be reached, Iran's isolation would only worsen," Sarkozy said. "And in the face of worsening threat, we would have to organize ourselves to protect and defend states that feel threatened (Haaretz.com)."

This is a scenario that I believe could take shape soon. Over the years, Israel has been offered various security packages in exchange for peace with the Palestinians, and now reportedly, to look the other way regarding Iran's nuclear program. 

It's hard to say when peace will be established, but when it is, the Antichrist will bring it. The first seal judgment that will begin the tribulation period is a rider on a white horse. This symbolizes the Antichrist which will come on the scene in the name of peace (Revelation 6:2). I believe he will offer Israel security in exchange for peace with its Islamic neighbors. 

Even though a peace deal will be signed for seven-years, I believe it will be interrupted by two possibilities.  One, Russia will be enticed by a major gas and oil discovery by Israel that they will not be able to resist (Ezekiel 38:4-12).  They will seize this opportunity by aligning themselves with a nuclear Iran and other Islamic nations and attack Israel.  Most prophecy experts believe this attack will take part in the early stages of the tribulation period.

Two, when the second seal judgment is opened a red horse and rider appear (Revelation 6:3-4). The Bible says that this symbolizes that peace will be taken from the earth. By the opening of the fourth seal judgment, the Bible says that man's attempt at peace has now escalated into a world war that will claim one-quarter of the world's population (Revelation 6:7-8). It should be mentioned that Israel will survive both wars and see their temple rebuilt.  

Many believe that these two wars will happen at different times during the tribulation period.  I'm not so sure!  In fact, I believe it is entirely possible that peace will be taken from the world when the Russian Alliance attacks Israel.  The Bible says that God will destroy the armies of Israel's enemies in the mountains of Israel through massive earthquakes, confusion, plagues, driving rain, hailstones, fire, and brimstone (Ezekiel 38:21-22).  But will this attack also set off the start of the prophesied nuclear world war that will claim the lives of one-quarter of the world's population?  

Of course, this question will remain unanswered this side of the rapture. But one thing's for sure, once this war breaks out life will never be the same.
