Latest Bible Prophecy Question
Pre-tribulation Rapture, Holy Spirit Role, & Who Will Witness To The Lost During Tribulation?
A question has come up regarding the occurrence of a pre-tribulation rapture.
If the rapture takes place pre-tribulation, won't the Holy Spirit be taken from the earth since He resides in the heart of every believer (I Corinthians 6:19)? If that be the case, who will spread the Gospel and initiate the great soul harvest described in Revelation 7:13-17?
I believe when Christians are taken (raptured) from the world the Holy Spirit will be taken with them. I speculate that between the rapture of the church and the beginning of the tribulation period that no one will be able to be saved. The Bible is clear, without the compelling power of the Holy Spirit, no man seeks after God (John 6:44; Romans 3:11). However, that will all change at the beginning of the tribulation period. It is at this time the Antichrist will come on the scene and confirm a seven-year peace agreement with Israel and many (Daniel 9:27). At this same time, God will send two witnesses (Revelation 11:3-13) who will be empowered by the Holy Spirit to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ on the streets of Jerusalem for a period of three and half years. Just as the early church was empowered by the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:1-4) to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, these two men will receive that same filling during the tribulation period. They in turn will preach to the citizens of Israel for which 144,000 saved witnesses will emerge. It should be noted that many others will be saved along with these 144,000 male witnesses, but only they will be officially sealed by God and sent out to preach the Gospel to the world. This will begin the greatest revival the world has ever known.
Question# 874:Question Regarding The Holy Spirit Indwelling During The Tribulation Period; Will Tribulation Believers Have To Maintain Their Own Salvation?
But the two witnesses and the 144,000 witnesses are only two of the many witnesses who will emerge during the tribulation period. There are at least two more groups of witnesses who will compel those on the earth to come to Christ. The first group, are angels. During the tribulation, the Bible says that angels will be flying through the air and preaching the Gospel (Revelation 14:6) to everyone throughout the world in their own native tongue. The witness of flying angels warning all not to take the mark of the beast but worship God should be enough to convince the whole world to come to the Lord and resist the mark of the Antichrist.
The second group, are those who will come to the Lord pursuant to the preaching of the two witnesses, the 144,000 witnesses, and the angels in the sky. They too will be influential in bringing many friends and family members to Christ throughout the tribulation period. Many will give their lives for the privilege of doing so as evidenced by the scene described in Revelation 7:13-17.
You may say, I'm not sure if I would go if the trumpet sounded...but I'd like to settle that today Well, we can solve that problem right now by praying this simple prayer, repenting of your sins, and turning your life over to the Lord from this day forward.
If you would like to accept Jesus as Lord pray with me right now:
Father, I know that I am a sinner and cannot obtain salvation in and of myself. I come to you in the name of Jesus asking that you forgive me of my sins, and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness and guilt. I trust and believe that Jesus died and rose again to pay my sin penalty. I accept this free gift of salvation, and from this day forward, turn my life completely over to the Lord. I thank you and praise you God for giving me a new life in Christ. Amen.
You may say, I've already prayed this prayer, but if you're honest, you are not living for the Lord and you're not really sure you would go when the Lord comes. God has the answer for this as well. Tell the Lord where you are at this moment in your life. Ask Him to forgive you (repent) for not living for Him and commit your life to the Lord, and from this day forward, live for Him. He will forgive you, all you need to do is ask.
Commit your life to Jesus today before it's too late! And if you have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, or committed your life to Christ, please send me an email. The Bible says when you become a follower of the Lord you need to confess it (Romans 10:10). I would be thrilled to hear about your confession.
Are you ready to meet the Lord? If not, your time is running out!
