A suicide bomber has blown himself up in the Israeli town of Rishon Letzion, reportedly killing at least two other people.
About 20 others were injured in the attack, 15 kilometres (nine miles) south of Tel Aviv.
The Palestinian leadership issued a statement condemning the suicide bombing, saying it had learned with rage and indignation of the new terrorist attack which targeted Israeli civilians in Rishon Letzion
The Israeli Government has reacted angrily to the attack, but officials say that, for now, there will be no change of policy.
Israeli foreign ministry spokesman Gideon Meir called the blast another vicious Palestinian attack against Israeli civilians.
India and Pakistan have exchanged belligerent warnings over disputed Kashmir, where a massive troop build-up and continued shelling have fuelled fears of all-out war.
Pakistan vowed to use full force in response to any attack by its nuclear rival India, which accuses Islamabad of backing terrorism by Islamic insurgents in Kashmir.
Earlier, Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee told front-line troops in Kashmir to prepare for a decisive battle against the insurgents.
India is believed to have deployed about 750,000 troops in Kashmir, facing some 250,000 Pakistani troops along the Line of Control.
India has announced it is moving five warships to the Arabian Sea, closer to Pakistan in view of the nation's security concerns and the operational situation.
The ships will reach the area within a week.
WASHINGTON -- The Bush administration's warnings about a new and potentially deadlier terror threat grew into a virtual chorus of doom Tuesday, as Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and other top officials said the United States can diminish but not eliminate attacks of the worst kind against the nation.
Rumsfeld told a Senate committee that nuclear, chemical and biological weapons inevitably will fall into the hands of terrorists.
They would not hesitate one minute in using them, he said. It is physically impossible to defend at every time, in every place, against every conceivable technique.
Secretary of State Colin Powell said a new survey of terrorist activity suggests that some nations -- Libya and Sudan in particular -- have reduced support for militant groups. But he said the annual report also demonstrates the very clear and present danger that terrorism poses to the world.
Terrorists are trying every way they can to get their hands on weapons of mass destruction, whether radiological, chemical, biological or nuclear,he said. END
As the world gets more dangerous, now we have another real threat of nuclear war resurfacing. As I have said in past articles Pakistan and India will go to war and I'm afraid it will be nuclear. Whether it will be before the tribulation period or during is unknown. But I fully believe that war is inevitable and the military buildup is not merely a showing of strength. If we knew how close nuclear war really was it would scare us to death.
Terrorism in America! I shutter to think what will happen in the future or what devastation awaits. This very well may be what brings the antichrist to the forefront. He may solve the terrorism issue through diplomatic means and in many cases by force. Whole countries may have to be destroyed or conquered because they are considered terrorist nations. It would not surprise me if Iraq and North Korea were the first causalities of this war. Strangely enough, according to Ezekiel 38 & 39, Iran the world leader in financing terrorism, will be spared until their fall in the Russian-Arab attack on Israel.
Another suicide bombing in Israel can only lead to more military incursions into the West Bank and Gaza. Of course, Palestinian officials are condemning the bombing but talk is cheap and it will finally take a multinational army to come in and stop.
