How Israel Attacking Iran Could Set The Stage For The Future Of Bible Prophecy!
Recently, I received the following message from a reader/viewer. He was sharing with me a Bible prophecy scenario that he felt would start with Israel attacking Iran and ultimately lead to Russia leading the Islamic world in an attack against Israel (Battle of Gog & Magog). After reading his analysis, I rejected some of his theory, but accepted and further expounded on what I felt was right on target.
Reader/Viewer Analysis
Ezekiel 38:8, 11, 14 speaks of the gathered nation of Israel (after
May 14, 1948) living in such safety and security that she feels she needs no
defensive walls from her enemies. The text says this secure and safe
state happens for Israel after a war (Ezekiel 38:8). Israel
has yet, from its inception as a new nation in 1948 until today, lived as safely
and securely as described in Ezekiel 38:8, 11, 14. So this great safety
and security for Israel after a war is an event still in the future. Notice
that is the safety and perceived security of Israel after
a war that allows Gog and Magog to finally attack Israel in another
war (Armageddon) in Ezekiel 38:10-12.
Therefore, the war that leads to Israel having the safety and security from her neighbors as described in Ezekiel 38:8, 11, 14 is more than likely the next war with Israel and Iran (including Hezbollah and Hamas). Then after winning this war, Israel will feel that she is living in safety and security from her neighbors. Israel may very well control even more of the Promised Land than she has now and with it more oil, which is what Gog and Magog will be after when they finally attack.
Does this not make sense from what Ezekiel 38:8, 11, 14 says?
My Analysis
The concept does make sense although it's not Biblical. Let me explain.
Ezekiel 38:8 does not speak of a war that precedes Gog & Magog. Secondly, Israel at
this time, has no walled villages to speak of as scripture declares. They do have a border fence for which
virtually all of it is nothing more than a chain-link fence (400+ miles) with
sensors (25 miles of the border fence is a high concrete wall) but no walled
villages (or cities). So that prophecy has already been fulfilled.
However, it is more likely that this passage is emphasizing Israel will be
living in a state of peace within their borders.
But here's what I do agree with you on. If Israel does attack Iran's nuclear facilities, and successfully destroys them, that would eliminate a major threat. That would also give them a reason to destroy Hamas and Hezbollah once and for all. Depending on the extent of the destruction (shock and awe), that would probably scare straight Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, etc. from wanting to get involved in a war with Israel, at least for the time being. Frankly, outside of maybe Syria and possibly Egypt, I don't see any of the others getting involved due to commonsense fear of a massive retaliation. Iran's retaliation will likely be minimal due to Israel's ability to knock out their electrical grid and defense command posts (Israeli coordinated attack).
Hezbollah and Hamas will likely be the biggest threat coming in response to an Israeli bombing of Iran. I think this will serve Israel well since most of the world is sympathetic toward Israel's situation. And when Hezbollah's 60,000+ missiles start to rain down on Israeli cities, it will justify them (in the world's eyes) to retaliate against Hezbollah and Hamas in full strength without world condemnation. Israel's retaliation against these two terrorist groups may be strong enough to wipe them out or severely threaten their very existence for many years to come.
However, here is the problem a unilateral attack against Iran may create. If Israel attacks Iran without the permission of the US, virtually all military analysts agree it would severely damage US-Israeli relations. Meaning, the US may not come to Israel's rescue in any future conflict this pre-emptive strike creates. This may be the reason why Russia will be so bold as to lead Iran and the Islamic world against Israel believing the US will not get involved.
This Russian led attack will probably be a delayed attack. But once Russia sees the US-Israeli fallout, they may prevent Iran from any further retaliation, in favor of a coordinated future massive attack that will serve both of their purposes. Russia needs new sources of oil which Israel has and the Islamic world wants Israel wiped off the face of the earth.
Lastly, this could also open the door for the Antichrist to rise and bring peace just before this Russian Alliance marches on Israel. There could be rumors of wars swirling (Matthew 24:6) just before the attack and as the Antichrist comes on the scene. I believe this peace the Antichrist will bring could be the time of peace and safety in Israel spoken of in Ezekiel 38:8, 11 & 14. Iran's nuclear program will be neutralized, and the peace agreement will likely involve Israel's neighbors (maybe even Iran), and a seven-year plan that will create a Palestinian state. Certainly, this peace will be a false peace that the Islamic world nor Russia intends on keeping and will likely be immediately broken early on in the tribulation period.
Of course, my analysis is pure speculation, but I have to give you credit for contributing to a concept that is entirely possible.
It should be noted, the rapture of the church will take place pre-tribulation.
