LONDON - When he meets with President Bush at Camp David today,
British Prime Minister Tony Blair will be seen by many Americans as an
unwavering ally of the United States, the most recent leader of a country that
has been an extraordinarily staunch friend over the decades.
But at home, and in much of mainland Europe, many people will see him
differently.
Blair's alliance with Bush has caused political problems for him in Britain, and
threatens his goals of teaming up with the United States and also increasing
Britain's influence with Europe, much of which opposes a war with Iraq.

This is a very interesting news article that allows me to do what you come to my site for…to speculate a bit.I have always said that I have a suspicion that Tony Blair could be the antichrist. I have no scripture to support this allegation nor are there any blaring red flags, but there are a few signs that may lead the path straight to him.
One, he is considered to be the frontrunner to hold the first Prime Minister of the E.U. As you may know, at present, each member country rules the E.U. for six months. This is done on a rotating basis, but there is a big push in the E.U. at this moment to make wholesale changes to the existing constitution. Paramount among those changes would be to select one permanent leader.
Two, I want to give you a description of the nation that will rule over the world in the last days. This nation will be the ruling force of which the antichrist will even bow to at first. It’s found in Revelation 17:1-18:
[1] And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: [2] With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. [3] So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. [4] And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: [5] And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. [6] And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. [7] And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. [8] The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. [9] And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. [10] And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. [11] And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition. [12] And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. [13] These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. [14] These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. [15] And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. [16] And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. [17] For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. [18] And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
The great whore in this description I believe to be the United States. Whether you believe it or not they are the ruler of the world at this time. It is also said that this ruling country will have many people of different tongues. What better description of the U.S. then that. They will be dressed in purple and very wealthy compared to the rest of the world. When Christians are raptured the U.S. will change dramatically from a nation under God to a godless society that will actually kill Christians. “And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus (v. 6)”. They will also play the harlot with other nations and abandon any resemblance of the nation they once were.
The beast, otherwise known as the antichrist, will act as the U.S. best friend, but eventually will turn on them and destroy them.
I believe the antichrist will be a trusted and loyal friend to the U.S. up unto the end, but sometime down the road (following the rapture) they will turn on her and completely destroy this nation in one day.
Right now, Tony Blair is taking a huge gamble since the rest of the E.U. is not really on board with the coming Iraqi war.
This is what I see for Tony Blair. Look for the Iraqi war to be short and decisive. More importantly, it will showcase the power and technology of the U.S. and Britain. Of course, Britain will be seen as riding the coattails of the U.S., but this war will propel Prime Minister Blair into the international spotlight. This dynamic partnership will continue to rise as a combined power, but Britain will still be in the shadow of the U.S.
If he is the antichrist, most of his rise in power will take place after the rapture occurs. His fame will spread and his alliance with the U.S. will strengthen. Together they will be an unstoppable force as their trust continues to grow.
After the rapture takes place, a series of events will take place. One, satan will select his antichrist and false prophet. At the hand of satan they will begin their rise to the top. Two, the antichrist (possibly Tony Blair) will achieve unparalleled success and be selected to be Prime Minister of the E.U. He will be seen as a military and financial genius, and his alliance with the U.S. will be accepted by the ten ruling nations of the E.U., but in their hearts they will hate her.
Two of his successes will occur at the beginning of the tribulation period. One, he will bring peace to the Middle East. Two, he will be given credit for the defeat of the invading Russian and Arab countries on Israel. Through this treaty he will pledge protection to Israel and will deliver.
At a given time, probably around the middle of the tribulation period, God will put it in the heart of the antichrist to rise up against the U.S. and destroy her. This will be a betrayal of epic proportions and will catch the U.S. completely off guard. There will be no survivors.
Of course, this is only speculation and the future is in the hands of God. But I find it unusual that Prime Minister Blair would jeopardize his political career, go against the wishes of the E.U. and the will of his people for the sake of an America alliance.
We shall see how this plays out in the months ahead.
