Alert Raised to 'High Risk' Orange U.S.
Advises Diplomats to Leave Mideast UN
interviews more Iraqi scientists Three more Iraqi scientists have been interviewed in private
by UN weapons inspectors in Baghdad. The meetings were announced just hours before the chief arms
inspectors arrive in the country to assess Iraqi compliance with a UN resolution
aimed at forcing Baghdad to give up any banned weapons. Comments Well, the U.N. inspectors are back in Iraq and this time are
being permitted to interview Iraqi scientists without minders (an Iraqi official
present). Of course, these interviews are being performed in highly bugged
conference rooms so whose going to talk anyway. We still continue to play
by Saddam's rules and the game continues. We will continue to get just
enough cooperation to be irritating and to provide ammunition for France and
China to make a case against war. Again, nobody in their right mind wants
war but it is a necessary evil that must be dealt with. It's a shame that
I have to keep repeating this. Little by little, the U.S. is gaining momentum in the U.N. for
military action. Everyday, a few more nations get on board in support of
an attack. We really don't need their help militarily but world opinion is
so important. Here's what I see in the next few days. The terror alert
is at "Orange" which high alert. That means that a terror attack
in the near future maybe imminent. The proposed sites are said to be
schools, malls, or places where security limited. This will be a nightmare
for state and local officials to monitor. We as Christians need to
continue to prayer for these officials that God will reveal any terror attempts
before they are carried out. I still believe that the the U.S. and allied
nations are blessed of the Lord and that He is ever watching out for our
safety. Please continue to prayer that these attempts will be found out. Look for the games to end sometime between March 15th through
the 22nd. Saddam is in hiding and I'm sure has left the country. You
can be certain that one of his doubles is standing in his place. He's
either in Libya, France or Russia. The sad part about this is that he's left his
people to die a death that is unnecessary. Hopefully, they will come to
this realization and surrender without a fight. I don't believe that Israel will be forced into the war, but
anything is possible. I do believe that we will swept through Iraq with
little resistance...even in Baghdad. This war will take less than a month
to win, but as in Afghanistan, there maybe pockets of resistance that may fester
for months down the road. The U.S. will put in place a local government, but will stay
around to make sure an uprising or assassination doesn't take place. Let's get one thing straight, the U.S. nor its allies have any
desire to take over the oil fields in Iraq. In all of U.S. history we have
been a nation that has rebuilt countries we have warred against. There is
no history of the U.S. ever conquering another country for its oil or any other
natural resource. We rebuild countries and we BUY our oil. In fact,
we usually pay for the equipment and provide the technology necessary to excavate
the oil. That's just the way it is and always will be this side of the
rapture. I hope you have a good weekend and continue to pray for the
Lord's guiding hand to be on our leaders. Pastor Malone
(AP) - The government raised its terror threat level to "high risk"
orange on Friday, warning of a growing possibility that the al-Qaida network
would launch an attack against the United States to coincide with Muslim holy
days. Changing the terror alert color from "yellow" triggered tighter
government security. Officials also urged greater vigilance by all Americans.
Attorney General John Ashcroft said the government had received intelligence
information, corroborated by multiple sources, that Osama bin Laden's terror
organization sought to attack Americans at home or abroad during the time of the
annual hajj pilgrimage to the holy Saudi city of Mecca.
(AP) - The State Department advised nonessential U.S. diplomats and family
members on Friday to leave Israel, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon. Private U.S.
citizens also were advised to leave those countries and Americans were cautioned
not to travel to Israel. At the same time, the department urged Americans to
stay away from Iraq and said it was closing the Polish office in Baghdad that
provided consular service to Americans in the absence of U.S. relations with
Iraq.
