Korea Rocket Can Hit U.S., CIA Says (AP) - North Korea has an untested ballistic missile capable
of reaching the western United States, intelligence officials said Wednesday.
The North Korean missile is a three-stage version of the Taepo Dong 2, said Vice
Adm. Lowell Jacoby, director of the Defense Intelligence Agency. It has not been
flight-tested, Jacoby said, leaving some questions about the North Korea's
capability to successfully launch the missile. Arab
Leaders Contemplating Offering Saddam Exile AMMAN, Jordan (AP) -- Arab leaders looking for a way to avoid
a U.S.-Iraq war they fear would ignite their volatile region are considering the
possibility of pressing Iraqi President Saddam Hussein to step down and go into
exile, diplomats say. Russia,
China, France to Hear Iraq Report (AP) - The foreign ministers of China, France and Russia will
return to the United Nations Friday to hear a crucial report from the chief
weapons inspectors that will likely set the tone for a heated debate about war
with Iraq. It was not clear Wednesday whether Secretary of State Colin Powell
would attend the meeting as well. The crisis with Iraq was brought the world's
most powerful diplomats to the council twice this year, where they have clashed
over whether the time has come to disarm Iraq through force, rather than through
continued inspections. Germany:
Tape Doesn't Prove Iraq Link (Reuters) - Germany, again setting itself in opposition to the
United States, said Wednesday a new audio tape presumed to be of Osama bin Laden
did not point to close links between the al Qaeda network and Iraq. "From
what is known so far we don't think we can conclude that there is evidence of an
axis or close link between the regime in Baghdad and al Qaeda," government
spokesman Thomas Steg told a news conference. Comments It has been learned by the CIA that North Korea has missile
capabilities that can reach the Western U.S. It hasn't been tested but you can bet
it will work. This is no accident nor should not come as a surprise.
Just as I stated years ago North Korea will be a major threat to the world and
will probably be the catalyst to a major nuclear war that will see millions die
and severely injured. Just in the last year I warned that North Korea would be a
threat unlike Afghanistan or Iraq. But if Iraq is left unchecked (as North
Korea was) they to will become a major nuclear threat. Fortunately, our
president is a forward thinker and is determined to extinguish their flame
before it gets out of control. I'm afraid North Korea has already gone past the
point of no return. Our future war with them will be both deadly and
catastrophic, and will reach the cities of allied forces, including the U.S. It's a shame, but I just don't believe that most Americans or Europeans can handle the truth. Putting these problems off will only make the threat that much more deadlier. But why bother with North Korea at all. The peace groups
have said for years that if we leave them alone they'll leave us alone...What right
do we have imposing our will on other regions and countries? This is a very naive perspective and this latest news proves
it. North Korea is in desperate financial need and their economy is on the
verge of collapse. Even if they don't use their nuclear capability for war
(they will), it is highly probable that they will sell it to the highest
terrorist bidder. I'm sure that those who are enemies of the U.S. would
receive special consideration. What do I see for the future? Look for war to commence
in a few weeks and for Saddam to ride off into exile. If word gets out
that he has departed then it maybe a very short war. I suspect that will
be the way it turns out. Look for France, Germany, Russia and China to save face and
jump on the bandwagon at the last minute. This war will bring little
resistance and few allied casualties. Bush and Blair will rise to a new
level and be seen as a dominating world force. The British will quickly
forget about their opposition to the war and declare Prime Minister Blair a
hero. When the Iraqi campaign is under control, their concentration
will switch to North Korea. The talk of this war will bring worldwide fear
and terror reminiscent of the Cuban Missile Crisis. This won't be just
another Afghan or Iraqi conflict. Of course, diplomacy will be the first
step, but ultimately they will have to be subdued by force. It is my belief that the rapture will occur before the future
war with North Korea takes place, but I could be wrong. Either way, this
world looks to be headed for a nuclear showdown very soon. I have been asked a number of times why I chose the picture that accompanies my opening homepage. The answer is simple! It embodies the total shock and horror that this world will one day endure during a period known as tribulation.
If you don't know the Lord, now would be a good time to make
that decision. Don't wait another day...it could be too late! Pastor Malone
But the diplomats say the idea has not yet coalesced, and it would be useless to
make such an offer until Saddam believes he has no other no option.
"There is a strong feeling that the United States is after Saddam and not
after weapons of mass destruction and therefore efforts should focus on how to
persuade Saddam to leave," one Arab diplomat said on condition of
anonymity.
