Warns Iraq It Faces 'Last Chance' (AP) - European leaders tried to mend
their bitter dispute over Iraq on Monday by calling for more time for U.N.
inspectors to disarm Iraq, but warning Baghdad it faced one "last
chance" to disarm peacefully. The declaration appeared to continue the
division that has split the European Union, with France and Germany opposing any
imminent military action against Baghdad. The United States and Britain, its
chief ally in the EU, are pushing for swift action to disarm Iraq, claiming that
Saddam Hussein has no intention of complying peacefully. N.Korea
Rattles Sabres; US, South Plan War Games SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea said
Monday it would win any nuclear war with the United States as the crisis over
the communist state's suspected drive to manufacture atomic weapons entered the
fifth month. South Korea weighed in with some
rhetoric of its own. President Kim Dae-jung said North Korea should "not
even dream of having nuclear weapons," calling it a dangerous development
that could trigger an arms race.
"If North Korea gets nuclear
weapons, the stance of Japan and our country toward nukes would change," he
said in a speech. Turkey
Delays Vote on U.S. Troops (AP) - Complicating U.S. planning for a
possible Iraqi war, Turkey's premier said Monday that parliament will not
consider allowing more U.S. troops on its soil until strategic and economic
issues are resolved. Parliament was expected to vote Tuesday on whether to allow
the United States to use bases and place tens of thousands of combat troops in
Turkey. That permission would allow the United States to open a northern front
against Iraq, which American officials said would shorten a war. Feb
15 Marks An Historic Day Of Protest! In a day of
protest like the world has never seen, millions upon millions filled city
streets around the globe denouncing the Bush Administration's call to war. From
Buenos Aires to Helsinki to Paris to Los Angeles, throngs of citizens came out
to join this global effort to turn the tide toward peace. At nearly a million
people, London saw its largest protest ever, 500,000
in New York City, 1-2 million in Rome, Barcelona and Madrid, and hundreds of
thousands in at least 600
cities across the United States and the World. Comments "But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no
need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of
the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace
and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman
with child; and they shall not escape." I Thessalonians 5:1-3 On February 15th the largest peace
rally in world history commenced around the globe. As all encompassing as
this war is, one thing has been overlooked...the Bible states that in the lasts
days the world would be longing for peace. Of course, there have been peace
demonstrations in the past, but not to this magnitude. Never has the world
come together with such force to shout out "Peace and
safety". This is scripture in action. With the rumbling of war in the Middle
East, Far East and other pockets around the world, we are at the crossroads of
decision. North Korea is determined to stand tall
against a supposed future U.S. threat. If not for the hand of God, this
country would have already unleashed the horrors of hell upon the world.
One day soon they will. Turkey has gained the assurance of NATO
protection in the event of a war, but is still dragging its feet on allowing
U.S. troops to enter their borders. You can bet they are secretly
receiving heavy resistance from within and from Islamic nations around the
world. They just voted in an all Islamic government. I still believe we are going to war,
but the next one (North Korea) maybe pre-empted by world outcry and the entrance
of the antichrist. He will bring a short-lived peace agreement
but in the end there will be great destruction. Pastor Malone
