Iraq Says World Is Rebelling Against U.S.

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraq (news - web sites) called the United States fascist and anachronistic Sunday, applauding divisions on the U.N. Security Council and saying the world is beginning to rebel against U.S. domination

Emboldened by the divisions and by a new report noting improved cooperation with U.N. weapons inspectors, Iraq has been more vocal in its anger toward the United States in recent days.

The Iraqi's don't realize how close they are to the truth.  Unfortunately for them, their leadership will not be in power long enough to see this rebellion come to fruition.

Yes, the world will one day rebel against the U.S. and it will be at the hand of the antichrist.  Look at the following verses.  This passage is speaking of a country that reigned during the tribulation period and even held power over the antichrist.

[4] And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
[5] And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
[6] And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
[7] And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. 

[15] And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
[16] And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
[17] For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
[18] And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth. (Revelation 17:4-7, 15-18)

As stated, the beast is the antichrist and the ten horns are the kingdoms that will lend their power to him in the last day.  

But who is the woman or the great whore that road the beast and ruled over the kings of the earth?  The fact that she is riding the beast indicates that the beast and his kingdom are also under the power of the great whore.  I interpret the whore riding the beast as a voluntary partnership for which the beast will tolerate the great whore, even working under her authority.  Together they will rise to great power and authority, but make no mistake, the great whore will rule the world at that time.  But in the end, the antichrist and his kingdom will rise up against her and destroy her.  The Bible says their destruction will be in one hour (or very quick) and final (Revelation 18:10).  In fact, their land shall never be inhabited again.

Other important characteristics of Mystery Babylon (great whore) are that they will be a country that will be considered the greatest commercial profit center of its time. No other nation can even be compared to its great wealth. All the nations of the world have become rich due to their trade with this country. The merchants of this nation were known as the great men of the world. When it is destroyed world trade will be devastated. This will be a great worldwide lose both financially and politically.  

Of course, if you have been reading my website for any length of time you know that I believe Mystery Babylon to be the U.S.  They have all the characteristics of this future prophesied great nation.  

But there are two drawbacks that many scholars point to.  One, ancient Babylon was located in the Iran/Iraq region.  It's only commonsense that Mystery Babylon would be located there as well.  Two, Revelation 18 says that they imported slaves (v. 13) and the souls of men.  Later it goes on to say that God took vengeance upon her because "in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth. (v. 24, Revelation 17:6)" 

Certainly, I can't refute the location of ancient Babylon, and yes, it only stands to reason that future Mystery Babylon would be in the same location.  Unfortunately, present day Iraq or Iran does not fit the description necessary for a wealthy and powerful nation that will rule the world in that day.  Barring some unforeseeable miracle I don't see world domination in their future.

About the second point of importing slaves, the souls of men, the shedding of the blood of the prophets, and of the saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.  I believe that when the rapture takes place the U.S. will take on an ungodly nature.  You won't even recognize the U.S.  You can be sure that they will abandon all Christian principles and adopt a world religious view.  Christianity not only will be looked down upon, but it will be outlawed and punishable by death.  The U.S. will play a major role in the murder of millions of tribulation saints.  

As far as the souls of men, slavery, and the shedding of the blood of the prophets are concerned; that could be an old score that God is settling that dates back to ancient Babylon, but it's not out of the question that slavery and the killing of prophets could take place during the tribulation period.  We already know about the two witnesses who will be slain during that time period.  

One other thing, Mystery Babylon is said to have committed fornication with the kings of the world (Revelation 17:1, 2).  I believe this is saying that they (U.S.) will make a strong move toward cooperation with other countries and accept with open arms not only trade but the worship of their gods.  In essence, "In God We Trust" will finally be taken from America and they will adopt other gods.  This will be a religious tolerance like you have never seen in America.  We only caught a very small taste of it at the 9/11 ceremonies.  This is a very serious crime in the eyes of God and for this He will destroy the U.S. for her harlotry. 

This just in: Reuters is now reporting that Iraq is placing explosives in and around the oil fields in Northern Iraq much like they did in the first Gulf War.  Also, an Iraqi defector has told U.S. officials that Saddam will use chemical and biological weapons, and there are many more soldiers in Iraq that are loyal to Saddam then we think.  He further stated that the soldiers and military equipment would be hid deep in underground bunkers while the Allied air attack was taking place.  When that is complete they will then come out blazing.  So the initial air attack will somewhat be ineffective.  

I still believe that the no matter how deep they may go underground, eventually, as in Afghanistan with the mountain bunkers, they will be sniffed out and killed.  There will be little opposition and the U.S. and allies will roll over them like a runaway train.
