Syria Criticizes U.S. 'Lack Of Foresight'

DAMASCUS (Reuters) - Syrian President Basher al-Assad accused the United States of dangerous lack of foresight after a top U.S. official warned Damascus not to back Iraq.

"The problem is that officials in the United States are used to imposing their opinions on others," Assad said in an interview with Austria's Der Standard newspaper, reported in Arabic by the official Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) on Wednesday.

It's all starting to come together.  The statement by Syrian President Basher al-Assad sets the stage for someone other than the U.S. to make the peace accord with Israel and Palestine a reality.  It's obvious the U.S. has lost the confidence of the Arab world and I don't at all see them in the picture except in a supporting role.  I still believe that it will have to be someone who is a friend of Israel and that list is very short.  The U.N. is notorious for ruling against Israel so it won't be them.  The E.U. is the likely choice as long as Tony Blair is the prime minister.  If he does become there first permanent prime minister he will have U.S. backing and can make it happen.  The E.U. will be the protective military body with the backing of the U.S. coalition.  But as I see it, the U.S. may lay the groundwork but they are out of the picture.

As stated in the article above, the Arabs are fighting hard to get the U.N. peace accord on the table, but that includes Israel going back to their pre-1967 borders.  I really don't see that happening.

The Iraqi War may very well be nothing more than God's timing to get the U.S. out of the Middle East peace picture and to make way for the coming of the antichrist.  I could be wrong but I'm starting to see a pattern that I believe will lead to a mistrust against the United States that's not getting any better.

Look for more Arab nations to become more vocal about their mistrust of U.S. motives and their belief that they are out to destroy them.  They will claim that the U.S. is using terrorism as an excuse to attack innocent Arab nations.

Keep an eye on this situation, things could change in a moment.
