Of course, the above articles give scoffers a little more room to doubt the coming of the Lord. Where is His coming the Bible has been prophesying for so long. I get those messages from time to time, but the truth of the matter is the Lord will come when the time is right.
President Bush is doing everything he can to make this roadmap work. Truthfully, it looks like more of the same, but one day, it will be solved...temporarily.
I really believe that we as Christians are living day by day in light of the rapture. Could it be years down the road? Certainly, but not to many. You should also know that many prominent Christian leaders believe it could be any day. Just as God made it clear when the Messiah's first coming would be, He also is speaking to the heart of God fearing ministers today.
Look for the rapture to come at any moment, but don't expect the Israeli peace plan with the antichrist to come about until the European Union elects a permanent president. Even then, it might not be the first president who signs the treaty. But I would take a long look at whoever becomes the first E.U. president. Certainly, with the roadmap on the table, the timing is right.
I do see continued stumbling along in the roadmap process until the Lord sees fit to bring the antichrist into the picture. The scenario that I see is Israel will continue to show interest in joining the E.U. The new president (E.U.) will show an unusual desire to help Israel meet membership conditions in the name of world peace, but little does anyone know he has an ulterior motive. One of the major obstacles to membership will be the continued fighting between Israel and Palestine. This will have to be solved before Israel can gain entrance. It will be through cunning deception that he will accomplish what previously seemed an impossibility. Peace will come to the Middle East and Israel will be granted a seven year probationary roadmap for entrance. They will immediately be granted full E.U. membership privileges and receive instant world status. This will be the status they have longed for, and with it, the backing of a solid government and monetary system (Euro). In exchange, they will give up land (that's happening now) and half of Jerusalem, but will be allowed to rebuild their temple. The antichrist will be behind making this a reality and will come to the forefront at the signing of the membership agreement.
When will this all take place and will we as Christian's witness it? Personally, I don't believe we will witness the vast majority of events that I have described to you. It's just a guess, but look for the rapture of the church to take place long before Israel is a true candidate for E.U. membership or peace is established in the Middle East. When the rapture does happen, a great spiritual falling away will occur (II Thessalonians 2:3). This world will change dramatically and life will never be the same.
