Bombs Alleged Terror Base in Syria
(AP) - Israeli warplanes bombed Syria on Sunday, striking what the military
called an Islamic Jihad training base in retaliation for a suicide bombing at a
Haifa restaurant. It was the first Israeli attack deep inside Syrian territory
in three decades. The U.N. Security Council called an emergency meeting after
Syria complained to Secretary-General Kofi Annan, a U.N. diplomat said.

This is something that I feared would happen,
but it was long overdue. I do expect Israel to start searching out these
training camps throughout the Middle East and possibly beyond.
Make no mistake, this is a major development
and could explode into something much bigger. Syria didn't retaliate but
instead called for a U.N. emergency meeting. They claimed that they had
the power and might to retaliate but ruled against it.
Of course, that's ridiculous, Israel has a
huge military technology imbalance with the rest of the Middle East. It
would be suicide to go to war with them and they know it. You can bet the
whole world is fully aware of Israel's power.
I can't really comment on where this will
lead, there are so many possibilities. But I can say that there are two
future events that will take place. One, the antichrist will make peace
with Israel, and two, Russia and its Arab partners will attack Israel. The
latter is looking to be more of a possibility everyday and shouldn't be rule out
to occur in the near future.
One other thing, I don't know what the Biblical length of a generation is (we can all guess), but time is ticking away as far as this prophecy is concerned (Matthew 24:34). Personally, I believe this generation started in 1948.
