Paris Denies Franco-German Union
The rumours that France and Germany were seriously discussing this topic has been fuelled in recent weeks by comments from senior figures on both sides.

French foreign minister Dominique de Villepin was reported by French media as saying that a Franco-German union was "the only historic gamble that we cannot possibly lose".

I maybe making a mountain out of a moll hill, but could this alleged Franco-German union be the beginning of what the Bible describes as a conspiracy that will take place in the antichrist's kingdom in the last days.  Here is the scripture that speaks of this future conspiracy:

[23] Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
[24] And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. (Daniel 7:23, 24)

Could this be the beginning of the fulfillment of this scripture?

Powell is now satisfied with the direction that the E.U. defense agency is heading.  As you know, I feel that this new E.U. war machine will one day march on the U.S., but for now, they're (E.U.) probably oblivious to what will come.

It doesn't surprise me a bit, that according to reports, Iran took a group of naive international nuclear inspectors to decoy sites.  You have to shake your head over these politically correct inspections.  There's never been an inspection worth its salt that wasn't backed up by force.   

Have you heard, terrorist groups have now extended their operations to South America!  That's getting awfully close to home and getting very dangerous.  Actually, the danger has always been there, the difference today is terrorists have no fear of losing their own life.  Mexicans have been crossing the border unsuspected for decades.  It's only a matter of time before terrorists take the same route.

Honestly, I'm not sure how this plays into the end times other than the possibility of a major strike by a terrorists group that in turn sets off a counterstrike against suspected countries harboring them.  That could prove to turn nuclear especially if it is against Iran, North Korea or some other questionable nuclear power.  

Personally, I don't see terrorism being a problem during the tribulation period, at least not on the antichrist's watch.  After all, satan is the ultimate perpetrator of fear.
