Welcome For Fresh Mid East Peace Plan
EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS - The dire situation in the Middle East
has propelled an unofficial peace plan into the limelight.
Brokered by figures from Palestinian and Israeli civil society - the so-called
Geneva Accords are being signed today in that city and have attracted the
attention of the World's capitals.
Although few believe that the accords will become the basis for negotiations,
many think the content to be roughly in line with what will have to happen if a
two state solution is to be realised.
Israeli Raid
Kills 4 Just Before Accord Signing
RAMALLAH, West Bank — Israeli troops launched a sweeping raid on
this West Bank city early Monday, killing a 9-year-old boy and three Hamas
gunmen and leaving 60 people homeless after blowing up their apartment building,
the army and Palestinian sources said.
Belgium
Confident EU Military Headquarters Will Be Created Soon
01/12/2003 Belgian prime minister Guy Verhofstadt said Monday he was
confident the European Union could soon have a headquarters to coordinate
European defence.
The Dead Sea Treasures
A $30 million, six-to-eight-month project to uncover the world's largest oil
field atop a salt dome at the southwest end of Israel's Dead Sea, is expected to
begin in early 1999, according torespected Texas oil man, Harold
"Hayseed" Stephens.
Until now, Israel's Islamic enemies have possessed nearly 75 per cent of the world's oil reserves with Israel's supply only a fraction of that. It's reported that Islamic nations such as Saudi Arabia, all sworn enemies of the tiny Jewish state, have trillions of barrels while Israel has only enough oil to supply itself for about one and a half days and depends on other countries for the remainder.
EU
Warned Against Duplicating, Competing With NATO
01/12/2003 US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld expressed confidence
on Monday that an EU bid to do its own military planning will be worked out in a
way that will neither compete with NATO nor duplicate its capabilities.
Comments
Following up on the story regarding the exploration of oil
in Israel, take a look at the above story entitled "The Dead Sea
Treasures". The article is a few years old, and if someone has a more
recent update, please send it to me.
Today Israel and Palestine are in
the middle of signing an unofficial peace plan called the "Geneva
Accords". Everyone is quite optimistic that this could be the
beginning of peace in the Middle East, and maybe it will be. But as far as
prophecy is concerned the peace agreement that will start day one of the
tribulation period is the agreement Israel signs with the antichrist. Even
if peace between Palestine and Israel is achieved that doesn't mean it is the
peace agreement prophesied for the final days.
I still see
the agreement with the antichrist coming out of the E.U. in the form of
membership. But if you remember, all E.U. candidates must have all
conflicts resolved before they can be considered for membership.
Look for Israel to make concessions for the sake of their real goal.
Keep your eyes on this situation.
