I really haven’t commented on the tsunami other than to share the information I have received regarding the devastation.  As far as prophecy is concerned, when the Bible makes a point in several passages regarding the relationship between earthquakes and the last days we really need to pay attention.  If you hadn't heard, that was the second major earthquake (8.1 & 9.0 magnitude) within a few days.  The first one didn't receive near the publicity the tsunami did because it didn't occur in a populated area.

Of course, there are those who would say that we have had earthquakes of this magnitude and death toll throughout world history.  And truthfully, they are correct to an extent, but I have a feeling it’s going to get worse and we may live to see some of the devastation.  When God said that earthquakes in divers places would be sign of the last days I’m afraid that it was a statement.  I’m also afraid the scoffers of this world aren’t ready for what I believe is about to happen. 

I feel sorry for the world because many will have to live through that day for which there will be no doubt.  In fact, the world will see a heavenly vision of God but it will be too late.  This is what the Bible says regarding that great and dreadful day: 

(12)  And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

(13)  And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

(14)  And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

(15)  And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

(16)  And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

(17)  For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?  Revelation 6:12-17 

We experienced a small taste of what will one day take place.  On Christmas Day news sources said that islands were physically moved and Asia was altered permanently.  But one day an earthquake will strike that will be so devastating that every mountain and island will be moved worldwide.  Every person on the earth will cry out in fear and say to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:  For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?” (v16-17) 

It’s strange that they would give credit for this great catastrophe to the one sitting on the throne (v16).  They’ve never recognized God before but on that day they will! 

If you don’t know the Lord a day is coming that is greater and more fearful than any tsunami you may ever face.   That day being when you will stand guilty before the Lord with your sin debt paid in full.   

You see, when Jesus died on the cross for your sin’s He paid for all sin past, present and future.  But you must accept His paid sacrifice, turn (repent) from your sin, and make Him Lord and Savior of your life. 

Personally, I don’t think you have any other choice.  You’ve done things your way for so long and it just hasn’t worked out.  

If you need Jesus to rescue you don’t wait any longer to make that decision.  Please pray this prayer: 

Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
