Helms
Pleads To Keep Clinton Out of U.N...
CHARLOTTE, N.C -- Bill Clinton in charge of the United Nations?
That's the image former U.S. Sen. Jesse Helms is dangling in front of his ardent
supporters in a letter aimed at raising money for his senatorial library.
In the letter, the 83-year-old Republican, who left office in 2003 after five
terms, worries that the former president has aspirations to lead the U.N. after
Kofi Annan retires next year.

Middle East peace talks will start in Egypt and
both look willing to restart the Roadmap. But Israel has made
it clear that no land will be turned over with an end to the
violence. I think that will happen, especially since Abbas is
globetrotting around the world trying to bring support to this
plan. He just left Russia and is now in Turkey. He has
also accepted an offer to visit Iran,. Counting Egypt, that makes
five countries he will visit that are said to participate in a
future Russian-Arab attack on Israel (Ezekiel 38).
Jesse Helms is leading a fight to kept former President Clinton out of the U.N. It is believed that he maybe slated to lead the U.N. after Kofi Annan retires next year.
This doesn't surprise me. I wrote an article a number of years back (1995-97) about Bill Clinton's desire to head the U.N. Of course, at that time he was still a U.S. president. In the future I would keep my eye on Mr. Clinton to see where he lands.
