Comments “Some
believe that satan will give birth to his son (antichrist).
Unfortunately, satan is a (fallen) angel and angels were not made with
the physical characteristics necessary to reproduce.” After
publishing the article I received an email from one of my astute readers who
questioned whether or not angels or fallen angels have the ability to in
pregnant an earthly woman. She
sited the following verse as scriptural proof: Gen 6:1 And
it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and
daughters were born unto them, Gen 6:2 That
the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they
took them wives of all which they chose. Gen 6:3 And
the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is
flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. Gen 6:4 There
were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of
God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them,
the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. I
realize that some theologians theorize that the “sons of God” can be taken
to mean angels or fallen angels. The
specific reason most believe this to be true is because of the mention of giants
being born during that same time period. They
mistakenly conclude that they must have come about through a demonic earthly
union. Although
a good theory, scripture does not support this hypothesis.
In fact, outside of this vague passage, there
is no Biblical evidence that angels have sex organs or even have the ability to
desire a woman. There’s also no clear Biblical evidence of angelic
offspring. Certainly if that were
true satan would have given birth to his son the antichrist through a woman as
God gave birth to Jesus through Mary. If that were possible the Bible
would have mentioned this birth. Instead satan will possess the antichrist
only. There’s
also one other problem. In order
for the angelic offspring theory to be true it would have to get past the words
of Jesus Himself found in Matthew 22:30:
Recently,
I wrote an article entitled Article# 438:
The
Antichrist: Who Will He Be?
In this
article, I touched on a couple of the possible theories floating around
regarding how satan could pick his antichrist.
This is what I wrote:
This
verse tells me that when we get to heaven our new bodies will not be equipped
for marital purposes, which of course includes sex. He goes on to compare our physical state as the present state
of the angels of heaven.
From
this verse I think we can conclude that angels are not created with the desire
to have sex nor were they created with that purpose in mind. We as humans
were, but when we get to heaven our desire to have a marital relationship will
no longer exist and our new bodies will not be built to accommodate the act of
sex. Marriage and sex will only be a memory. We will be just like
the angels of heaven without that physical ability.
I
hope this sheds some light on this issue.
