The Israeli evacuation from Gaza is a little more than a month away. I
suspect a Palestinian state will follow sometime down the road. Next on
the list will be the total evacuation of the West Bank. Eventually, these
two regions will become one state.
Figuring out how the two provinces will bridge the gap has become more than a challenge. Apparently, Israeli and Palestinian officials have come to terms with a temporary solution. Israeli security forces will allow West Bank and Gaza residents to be escorted across Israel by convoys. This is satisfactory in the short run but a permanent solution will have to surface.
As you may know, there is a proposal circulating that calls for the building of a road that will run from Gaza to the West Bank. The only problem it will run straight across the lower half of Israel.
It's going to take a miracle to convince Israel to allow a major highway (or tunnel) to be built across Israeli territory, but it wouldn't shock me if it happened. This would be a major breach of Israeli security but they may be forced or deceived into allowing this to happen. No other nation would permit their sworn enemy to build a highway right down the middle of their country, but I'm afraid Israel may be duped into compliance with the wishes of the international community.
This may not take place until after the rapture. It is believed that when the Antichrist comes on the scene he will deceive the whole world into believing his lies. With the the power of satan at his disposal the world will find itself at the mercy of the antichrist. Israel will be no exception!
Be sure to take a look at the latest update on the search for oil in Israel (CBN News - Oil In Israel - Does The Bible Foretell Its Discovery?). This company is searching in Northern Israel and believe the Bible supports a major oil discovery in that area. The name of the company is Zion Oil and they do have a website link posted for the latest update on their progress. Here is their latest report:
June 26, 2005 - Zion's drilling contractor, Lapidoth Israel Oil Prospectors Corp., reached the primary target depth of 4,560 meters in the re-entry and drilling of the Ma'anit #1 well, under the direction of Zion's executive vice-president Glen Perry and drilling manager Stacy Cude. It has taken 65 operating days (8 more than planned) to reach target depth and begin logging operations. The rig was shut down for Shabbat each weekend between 1600 hrs on Friday and 2200 hrs on Saturday, so it has taken 80 elapsed days between commencement date of April 10, 2005 and completion of logging. We plan to start drilling deeper during the week of July 3, 2005 and should reach a secondary target dept of 5,000 meters within the next 2-3 weeks.
I'm not pushing this company over another company. Personally, I hope they all find oil and lots of it!
