Says Sharon Still May Bolt Likud
Chicago Tribune Wed, 28 Sep 2005 4:11 AM PDT
JERUSALEM -- Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's narrow defeat
of a challenge within his Likud Party gave him time to
decide his political future, but he still may bolt the
party if it refuses to support his political program, an
adviser said Tuesday. |
Comments Air
strikes continue in the Gaza Strip on militant groups and their
installations. For the most part Israeli forces have just
destroyed terrorists sites and weapons facilities. But
frankly, if their are deaths, I can't for the life of me see how
Israel could be held liable. They are responding as any
other country in their right mind would respond to a hostile
nation. Is the quartet operating on a double
standard? Of course they are but that is where we are in
this end time scenario.
Evidently, Israel has rounded
up quite a few terrorist candidates who were on the ballot for
the upcoming Palestinian elections. Now they're
complaining that Israel is taking advantage of the situation to
disrupt their upcoming elections. Is it just to simple for
me to say that they could have avoided all this by not shooting
rockets into Israeli neighboring towns and cities? Now
that Israel has made good on their promise to retaliate with a
crushing air attack the militants are waving the white flag, but
Israel continues to pound terrorist targets. I would hope
the terrorist groups learn their lesson but they won't. We
know from scripture (Ezekiel 38 & 39) that they will try at
least one more time to destroy Israel. Of course, this
attempt will fail miserably.
What do I see for the
future? I think Israel is going to go back and forth with
militants from this day forward until a Palestinian state is
formally created and a peace treaty is signed. I have to
believe that at some point the militants will stop attacking
Israel for the sake of the creation of their state, but the Lord
may have other plans. When I say other plans, whether the
militants know it or not they are being used by God as pawns to
regulate the speed of the talks and to keep things in His
timing. Look for Israel to give up the West Bank and
eventually half of Jerusalem. When this happens it will be
a monumental day the world over. But don't expect it to
come easy. I foresee many failures before it finally gets
done. As I have said in the past, I don't believe we
(Christian's) will see the final results of the seven-year peace
accord. If we are here its not the peace treaty the Bible
speaks of. We must remember, it will be a seven-year peace
treaty. I must say the only avenue for a seven-year peace
treaty that I can figure is a neighborhood agreement with the
E.U. I would say E.U. membership but once you're a member
it's permanent and a peace treaty isn't necessary. As far
as the U.N. and U.S. are concerned, they already have a
relationship with Israel. I can't imagine why they would
need to make a peace treaty with either of them.
That's all I have for
now. Keep an eye on the developments in Israel. That
is the real barometer for the end times.
