The world is
finally waking up to the very real prospect of a terrorist nuclear attack.
I usually don't mention TV stations (especially HBO) but last
night they aired a documentary entitled "Last Best Chance". You
can get a free DVD by going to lastbestchance.org while supplies last. The
movie focused on the belief that America is on the brink of an imminent
terrorist nuclear attack. This is considered very scary to most
people but I don't believe it will happen until after the rapture takes place.
Of course, some would say that is wishful thinking, and maybe it is, but I am of
the mind that the Holy Spirit is still restraining the ultimate evil that must
come. "And except those days should be shortened, there should no
flesh be saved" (Matthew 24:22a).
"According to the just-released Red Cross World Disasters Report, natural disasters are coming at a scale unprecedented in both frequency and intensity." http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/printer-friendly.asp?ARTICLE_ID=46810 And it's going to get a lot worse!
I don't know if you remember, but back in December of 2004, I wrote Article# 394: Why I Believe Tsunami Could Be The Beginning Of A String Of Woes. In the article I stated I believed from that point forward there would be a significant increase in natural disasters. As we close out the year 2005 I don't see that trend subsiding. Of course, unbelieving so-called experts point to global warming. They're wrong and soon the whole world will see.
I was in a major airport two weeks ago watching CNN when suddenly the topic changed to natural disasters. To my surprise the guest expert was respected Christian leader Pat Robertson and he was being asked what the Bible had to say about the mega disasters we have encountered recently. It's one thing for Christian's to take notice (they should), but when the world is asking you know something big is happening. I say this because for years I have heard scoffers downplay the statistics presented by various disaster centers. Those emails have stopped cold!
Many of you have written me regarding my absence from updating my website. I have been out of town accompanying mother who has been receiving treatment for liver cancer. Please continue to pray for her as she will be going back for additional treatment on the morning of November 11th. I still believe that the Lord is in the healing business and that He is poised to perform a miracle. Continue to pray to that end.
If you have been a longtime reader of mine you know I end virtually all my updates with the phrase "Are you ready to meet the Lord? If not, your time is running out!" I suspect if the Lord tarries (don't count on it) that will be inscribed on my tombstone. But whether he comes today or years from now we all have the prospect of breathing or last breath today. You see, none of us are guaranteed tomorrow.
I was listening to a great man of God speak recently. His topic..."Where Will You Spending Eternity". As he spoke he touched on deaths untimely call. As he continued, he brought up the late Hall Of Fame basketball player Pete Maravich. Apparently, Pete and Dr. James Dobson (host of Focus On The Family) regularly played basketball at a local gym.
One day, as both of them were enjoying a friendly pickup game of basketball, Dr. Dobson looked over at Pete and asked, "Pete, how are you feeling?" Pete replied, "I've never felt better in my life!" Immediately, Pete fell to the ground dead. That was the last thing Pete Maravich said on this side of life. He was only 34 years old with plenty of years ahead of him...so he thought. Fortunately, Pete was a born again Christian and he is rejoicing in heaven today. But friend, if you were to die tonight where would you spend eternity? If you can't answer that question chances are you're not prepared. For when death calls there are no second chances.
Our only hope is in Christ. You can't get to heaven as you are because your sins have separated you from God (Romans 3:23). That's why God sent his only son to die for the sins of the world, to bridge the gap between God and man (Romans 6:23). If you were good enough to go to heaven on your own merit, Jesus' death, burial and resurrection would have been unnecessary.
Well what do you need to do? First, come to the Father, admitting that you are a sinner. This proclaims your need for a Savior. Second, ask for forgiveness of your sins. Third, ask Jesus, to come into your heart, and save you, and to help you live a life for Him (Romans 10:9-10). Dedicate the rest of your life to serving Him and mean it. Only a truly repentant heart can Christ come in and forgive. Jesus died for you, He ask that you live for Him (Romans 10:13).
If you would like to accept Jesus as Lord pray with me right now:
Father, I know that I am a sinner and cannot obtain salvation in and of myself. I come to you in the name of Jesus asking that you forgive me of my sins (name them), and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness and guilt. I trust and believe that Jesus died and rose again to pay my sin penalty. I accept this free gift of salvation, and from this day forward, turn my life completely over to the Lord. I thank you and praise you God for giving me a new life in Christ. Amen.
If you prayed this prayer, share your decision with a Christian friend or pastor. If you are not already attending church, find one in which you can worship and grow in your faith. Following Christ's example, ask to be baptized as a public expression of your faith.
I pray you will make this decision for Christ tonight...for tomorrow maybe to late.
