In a recent interview, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak said that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is the only Israeli politician that is capable of bringing peace to the region.  Of course, this is nothing more than a campaign speech to help get Sharon re-elected.  Sharon faces former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in March 2006.  If Netanyahu were to be elected all hopes of a peace deal would be lost or severely threatened.  At this time, all polls favor Ariel Sharon to be re-elected by a wide margin.

Another step toward Palestinian statehood is happening as we speak.  Palestine is now in full control of the Egyptian-Gaza border.  Next step, the West Bank, then comes a major hurdle that must come...Jerusalem.  

The Bible predicted over two thousand years ago that this day would finally arrive and it's here!  Take a look at Zechariah 12:3:

"And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it." (Zechariah 12:3)

Jerusalem has become the sticking point to bringing peace to the world.  Yes, I did say world!  It is my belief that when the antichrist solves the peace problem between Israel and the Arab's this will essentially effect the whole world.  It's not a stretch to say that much, if not all, of the terrorism in the world has a direct or indirect connection with eliminating Israel. There will be peace for a little while, although a false peace, it will be peace none the less.

If you haven't heard, the H5N1 strain of bird flu seen in human cases in China has mutated and is different than the strain found in Vietnam.

Back to back deadly earthquakes have struck in China and Iran.  I don't know what the official count is but many are beginning to get worried about the rise in natural disasters that has occurred this year.  Don't look for it to let up in 2006.  The Bible is clear that in the last days there would be a noticeable increase in earthquakes throughout the world (Matthew 24:7).
