Is The Mark Of The Beast On The Earth Today?  If So, Can We As Christians Unknowingly Take It?

Question
Thank you for your website. I am an eager reader of your articles and I appreciate that you stick to the Bible when it comes to all the prophecy things. Thank you and thanks to the Lord.

I have a question. Some people (Christians) claim the verichip to be the mark of the beast already. They say that the verichip has a 128 DNA code inside that controls the thoughts and mind of human beings, so once inserted they are lost and it will be used by the AC. I tell them, no that's not true, first the restricting power must be gone (Holy Spirit or Church) and the AC must arise before people are "caused" to get the mark of the beast. And that they need to worship the beast. And that true Christians will not get the mark before the rapture. But they believe that satan is soooo smart that the "preparation" of the mark of the beast will happen prior to the tribulation. And people would get chipped without knowing that this is the mark. The devil would not come and say "look this is the mark of the beast". They think even now where there is no AC on the scene, it can be the mark of the beast, since the AC would be active secretly.

Now, I would like to know what you think about the verichip and the matter about getting the mark of the beast without knowing it.

Thanks!

In Christ

Answer
That is actually a topic I have covered in the past in my website or book...I can't remember.  But the answer is simple.

In short, the mark of the beast technology is on earth at this time.  Whether it is the verichip or something similar is unknown.  It could be as simple as a tattoo, which many seem to have a problem accepting due its simplicity.  The Bible says the only requirement of the mark is that it be placed either on the right hand or forehead (Revelation 13:16).  During the tribulation period, if someone walks into a store, restaurant or business without the mark they will be refused service or won't be able to do business.  You will have to have this identifying mark to survive in normal society under the Antichrist's rule.

The argument that Satan is so smart and could deceive us (Christians) is just not valid.  Satan doesn't even know that we are in the last days.  In fact, he won't even realize that his time is short until the middle of the tribulation period when he's finally kicked out of heaven (Revelation 12:7-9).  The idea that Satan has the same or even a portion of the knowledge that God has (regarding the last days) is nonsense.  It's just not Biblical and I challenge anyone to prove he does.  he (Satan) is a pawn in the hands of God unwittingly doing His will.  When the rapture takes place, Satan will truly believe that this is his time and now is the time to seize his opportunity.  He doesn't know that God put these thoughts into his mind and planned this day before the foundation of the world.

Anyone who says that Christians can be fooled into unknowingly take the mark of the beast has underestimated the discerning power of the Holy Spirit which resides in every believer.  It's just not possible.

Take a look at Mark 13:14-27:

[14] But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
[15] And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:
[16] And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.
[17] But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
[18] And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.
[19] For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.
[20] And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
[21] And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:
[22] For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
[23] But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.
[24] But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
[25] And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
[26] And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
[27] And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

We know this passage is speaking of the last days.  Notice verse 22 says, "For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect."  Also take notice of the phrase "if it were possible, even the elect".  This verse tells me that no false Christ or prophet can fool the elect (Christians).  It's just not possible.  It comes down to the question of decision…we can believe the Word of God or what people think.  I choose to believe the Word.

When the antichrist takes control, he will impose his will on every living soul on the earth.  Most will willingly take his mark and follow him, but many will not.  Some will die for their decision and others will be protected by God.  Those elect that are protected will be the one's who enter into the millennial reign of Christ and repopulate the earth.

At the end of the tribulation period, Satan will be chained and cast into the bottomless pit for 1,000 years (Revelation 20:1-3).  The world will at last be free of Satan and his deceptions.  But at the end of the 1,000 years he will be freed.  You would think that he would have spent time reflecting upon his last defeat and repented or at least stayed away from what got him in trouble the last time.  But no, he will go right back to gathering an earthly army and rebelling against God.  If he knew the future he certainly would not have taken that route.  The Bible describes his fate in Revelation 20:7-10:

[7] And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
[8] And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
[9] And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
[10] And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

If he knows the future or can even discern what is written in the Bible he's pretty stupid for going ahead with his plan.  The answer to this is simple...he doesn't know the future nor can he discern any scripture that God does not allow him to discern.  We may have that knowledge but that doesn't mean Satan does or even the angels in heaven.

Take a look at I Peter 1:12:

"Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into."

This verse is speaking of salvation.  If you look at the bolded text "which things the angels desire to look into" this tells me that the angels of heaven don't have full knowledge regarding salvation but they do desire to look into it.

You don't have knowledge of something just because it is available, God must give it to you if you are to discern it.  As far as Satan is concerned it might as well be written in Greek because he can't understand it unless God allows that understanding.

I hope this has answered your question.

Are you ready to meet the Lord?  If not, your time is running out!
