Israel will not make an issue over British Foreign Minister Jack Straw's statement last week that after the world deals with Iran's nuclear "threat," it will deal with Israel's.

Straw gave a lengthy television interview in Britain Thursday, following the decision to send Iran's nuclear dossier to the UN Security Council for possible sanctions. When asked about a "double standard" regarding Iran, Straw replied: "I want a nuclear-free Middle East. It's the policy of her majesty's government. We've been working to achieve that. We have ensured over the last few years that two of the four countries [in the Middle East] which posed a nuclear threat, Libya and Iraq, have had their nuclear weapons removed," he said.

Tapes Reveal WMD Plans By Saddam
Audiotapes of Saddam Hussein and his aides underscore the Bush administration's argument that Baghdad was determined to rebuild its arsenal of weapons of mass destruction once the international community had tired of inspections and left the Iraqi dictator alone.

One of the main questions presented in discussions was whether Israel would inform the US in advance.

British Foreign Minister Jack Straw has said that Israel's nuclear program will be dealt with after Iran's has been shutdown.  His goal...to have a nuclear free Middle East.  Whether Israel would adhere to such a demand is another thing, and quite frankly, would be absurd.  Of course, many around the world feel if Iran, Iraq, Libya and so many others are to be held to this standard Israel must fall in line as well.

Unfortunately, for many years I have seen this day coming when Israel would be forced into complying with the wishes of the international community regarding their nuclear program.  I have to believe that the U.S. will have no choice but to fall in line with international demands that Israel disarm especially if Iran and other Middle East nations have done so.  And if they don't adhere to the U.N.'s demands they will face the same fate that Iran may have to endure in the near future...international sanctions and isolation.  

If Israel gave up their nuclear program it would leave them vulnerable and at the mercy of everyone of their enemies.  This would play right into the hands of the Arab world.  For years, they have hesitated over staging an all out attack on Israel due largely to the common perception that Israel is a nuclear power.  If such an attack took place they knew it would bring sure and certain nuclear retaliation to all nations involved.  But if the world were to force Israel to disarm this would give them the courage to finally once and for all rid the Middle East of all Jews.  

One day in the near future such an attack will take place, and when it does, the Bible says Russia will lead the charge (Ezekiel 38 & 39).  I don't know if this plan is already in the works or if it will be a pleasant surprise for the Arab world, but either way, Russia will play a major role in this overwhelming invasion.  

I have to believe that the world powers will promise all kinds of protection to Israel to get them to disarm, but when Russia gets involved, everyone will cut their losses and turn their back on them.  If you think the American uproar over U.S. involvement in the Iraqi War is about to explode just wait until we are also faced with coming to Israel's aid.  And with the Russian's involved, I don't see any way possible that the U.S. or their allies would risk a confrontation of this magnitude.  It's one thing to subdue a technologically archaic Arab coalition, but quite another to tangle with a major world power with advanced nuclear weapons.  Yes, Israel will be on their own and it will look like certain defeat.  

But the Bible says that God has caused this to happen for a specific purpose...to destroy Israel's enemies (Ezekiel 38:1-4).  In fact, scripture declares that Russia, even though they may try, will be unable to resist the spoil of this attack:

"And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords".  (Ezekiel 38:4)

God will literally put hooks into the jaws of these armies and lead them to the slaughter.  

"And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my fury shall come up in my face. For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;  So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground. And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man's sword shall be against his brother.  And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD." (Ezekiel 38:18-23)

In the end, the invading armies will be destroyed with fire and every sort of disease.  They'll even turn on each other!  The world will be in shock over this great and miraculous victory "and I (God) will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the Lord."

Following this great victory, Israel will likely destroy the Dome of the Rock and rebuild their temple if this hasn't occurred already.  

I have to believe this war will take place at the beginning of the tribulation period just after the antichrist comes to power.  It will be through his seven-year peace accord that Israel will be dwelling safely (Ezekiel 38:14) in their on land.
