UN
Pushing To End Nation-States And Create One World Government
The U.N. says an unprecedented outbreak of co-operation between countries,
applied through six specific financial tools, would serve as pretty much a
cure-all for the world's ills and generate an extra $7 trillion in economic
growth.
The authors of the ambitious report don't expect nations to fold up and take the hint any time soon. But the idea is to start the ball rolling – and maybe years or decades from now the world will actually be ready to listen.

The UN has unveiled a plan that calls for the end of
individual nation states. This is what we Christians call a one world
government that would be govern by a world body and quite possibly headed by a
world president or premier. I doubt their plan calls for a man to govern
who will claim to be God but it does set the stage.
The authors of the plan are not calling for nations to turn over control right now but they do want them to keep an open mind. They say it may take years or even decades before anyone will be ready to talk. But according to the report, many high-level politicians, Nobel laureates, bankers and economists have embraced the plan.
Certainly, this is nothing new, but it does serve as a wake-up call for us Christians as to the day we are living in. I don't see this plan being adopted any time soon but that could all change in a moment after the tribulation period begins. The truth is, most people see the world moving along as it always has, and why not, even after the two greatest wars in history (WW I & II), the governments of the world settled right back into governing themselves. Yes, we did form a world body headed by five ruling countries (UN), but when it was all said and done, each country has by and large stayed the same.
This is what I see for the future. This plan will move slowly and run into a number of roadblocks until the rapture (I Thessalonians 4:13-18) of the church. After this happens most of the world will be in a state of temporary shock much like they were after 9/11 but on a grander international scale. But in time, they'll have to move on and go on with life. Sometime after the rapture the antichrist will be revealed (II Thessalonians 2:3-5). It would be a guess to forecast when and how the one world government will come about. The antichrist through the power of satan may simply deceive the nations from day one, but it's more likely that his government will be established through war. When the dust settles he will rule the world and no one will be able to oppose him (Revelation 13:4). How far away this is into the future is unknown but you can rest assured it won't be long.
At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin is secretly putting his allies into positions of leadership in countries that used to be a part of the former Soviet Union.
Putin is slated to leave office in 2008 but many believe that he will never give up power, and in fact, maybe positioning himself to take back the former Soviet block countries.
If Putin steps down in 2008 I will be shocked. I have followed and reported on his presidency from day one (Article# 6: Prophecy Alert: New Russia And The Threat That Will Come). From the beginning I have stated that President Putin's long range plan was to one day restore the Old Soviet Union and bring it back to superpower status. I believe he is on the brink of making both happen.
To the casual reader they seem diplomatic and cooperative, but the truth is, they are a seasoned professional war machine that the world once feared and trembled over. When they attack Israel the U.S. and its allies won't get into the battle for the simple reason...deep down its a battle they know they can't win.
Reports have surfaced that Hamas and Fatah are headed for a showdown that could ignite a civil war. It was only matter of time before this happened. You can't expect two deadly gangs to work together in a civilized manner like a real government. It's come down to a turf war and unless someone steps in or steps aside there's going to be a war. Quite frankly, this is what Israel has been waiting for. Where it will lead is another story.
After a pastor in Gaza said that the outbreak of bird flu in Israel was just the beginning of plagues Allah would bring on them...it was reported today that Gaza faces their own outbreak. In response, Israel said they would supply Palestinian teams with protective gear and professional assistance. This is a sharp contrast of two themes; one side is praising their god for striking down their enemy while the other sends supplies and vaccines when they suffer the same fate.
Scientists are trying to calm the world by telling them how difficult it is to catch and transfer human to human H5N1 bird flu. They contend that the only way a human could contract the disease is if it mutated. And if it mutated, the death toll would depend largely on how long it took before we came up with an effective vaccine. Worst case scenarios range in the tens of millions.
Mexican officials are denying that a case of H5N1 bird flu has been found near the Mexican/U.S. border. Apparently a Brazilian website reported that a dead duck was found on a farm near Arizona that had been diagnosed with the disease.
I hope the scientists are right.
Are you ready to meet the Lord? If not, your time is running out!
