Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara said on Thursday, that at this time,
peace in the Middle East was not possible.
He said this in response to US President Bush’s announcement that he
would be recommending that an additional 21,000 troops be sent to Iraq.
He's not the only one that
believes peace is not possible at this time.
From time to time I get e-mails from readers who tell me they just don't
believe that the rapture could take place at this time because things are not
quit in place prophetically. They
feel a few more signs need to be developed such as the formation of the EU and
its constitution. Without the
Constitution in place, there can be no president, which many believe will be the
coming antichrist.
I disagree.
The only thing that needs to be in place for the rapture to happen is the
rebirth of Israel. That happened
back in 1948. Even the temple
doesn’t have to be in place until midway through the tribulation period.
The Bible describes the
mindset of that final generation in several passages.
“Knowing this first, that
there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And
saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep,
all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.”
(II Peter 3:3 & 4)
“For as in the days that
were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage,
until the day that Noe entered into the ark.”
(Matthew 24:38)
“This know also, that in
the last days perilous times shall come.” (II Timothy 3:1)
“For yourselves know
perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh
upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.”
(I Thessalonians 5:2 & 3)
These are certainly
dangerous times and I believe they're going to get a lot more dangerous.
But our analysis as to how dangerous the world maybe or what events need
to be in place are not necessarily factors in determining how close we are to
the rapture. We could be in the
middle of a worldwide economic boom with no end in sight just as Egypt enjoyed
during Joseph’s day. But as we
know, things changed drastically in the following seven years. So drastic was the change that they forgot about the previous
bountiful seven years. My point is
things can change dramatically in a very short amount of time.
What many believe is that
the world is progressing toward a one-world government and one-world religion.
Yes, there will be a
one-world religion and a one-world government, but it won't come to fruition
until the antichrist takes control. At
that time, he will demand universal worship, introduce a universal mark (666)
the entire world must take or die, and control the wealth of the world through
his one-world banking system. You
will not be able to conduct business, buy products or work without the mark. And on top of this, he will have the means and military power
to enforce it. He will be ordained
of God and empowered by satan for this very hour.
All will worship him by force, fear or deception.
All others will be executed!
Whether the experts of this
generation forecast peace or war only the Lord knows the true outcome.
For when the rapture takes
place this world will change forever just as it did in Noah’s day when the
rains came, the floodwaters rose, and only eight people were saved alive.
As shocking as it was during Noah's day, that future second day is fast approaching.
Are you ready to meet the Lord? If not, your time is running out!
