no US attacks seen in near future; Iran says they're ready with Russian help

Russian military analysts are sounding a new alarm over the availability of Cold War era nuclear weapon stockpiles housed in poorly guarded warehouses across the country.

During the Soviet era, tens of thousands of nuclear warheads were produced and eventually dismantled, but there are still some 18,000 that are still intact.

"Only 47 percent of them are secured in a safe manner," according to Victor Mizin, a former high-ranking Russian diplomat. "If any of the terrorist groups will decide to obtain Russian nuclear materials for the purpose of making dirty bombs, they would be able to accomplish their goal relatively easy," Mizin said. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=55081

Most of the security personnel guarding these facilities are poorly trained and draw very low incomes which make it an easy target for terrorist groups such as Al-Qaeda.

In preparation for an anticipated attack by the US Air Force on their nuclear installations, Iran is obtaining Russian-made air defense and anti-tank systems.

"Col. Yury Solovyov, commander of Russia’s Air Defense Forces Special Command, told Novosti news agency Friday, April 6, that Iran’s air defense system is strong enough to repel a US strike."

“Currently Iran has our defense missile systems which are capable of tackling US combat aircraft,” he said. “Iran also has French and other countries’ defense systems.” http://www.debka.com/headline.php?hid=4033

Israel is worried that Russia will also begin supplying these sophisticated weapons systems to Syria and Hezbollah which would hamper Israeli tank and helicopter movements and strike Israeli command posts well into the Golan Heights.

Contrary to previous Russian intelligence, no US attack on Iranian sites are expected within the next few days.

In other related news, it is being reported that Russia could head up a new Middle East gas cartel. According to sources, Algeria, Iran, Qatar and Russia are set to meet along with 15 other gas exporting countries. From this meeting some are expecting a new cartel to be formed.

This partnership would certainly fall right in line with what the Bible says about Russia (Gog and Magog) and their relationship with the Islamic world in the last days (Ezekiel 38 & 39). Russia, in the name of missile defense, has openly aligned itself with Iran, but you can bet they are developing ties with other countries such as Syria, China, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Algeria, Qatar and Egypt to name a few. This last days alignment is shaping up just as the Bible has predicted.

Supreme Leader of the Islamic revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said Friday that unity among the Muslim world was of utmost importance in the fight against the great powers of the world.

The Ayatollah said," Islamic Ummah, after years of ignorance, is having a new look at sharia and the Islamic faith. Therefore, the Islamic world, with this new insight and understanding and with resorting to religious teachings and the deeds and words of the Great Prophet, can be the forerunner in moving towards perfection and elevation."

"Ayatollah Khamenei said Islamic vigilance and return to Islam, revival of the holy Quran and the creation of a united Ummah are among the facts of today's Muslim world, adding that these facts, which were once just faraway ideals among some elites and reformers in the Islamic world, have now turned into living mottos in the hands of Muslims masses and especially the youth and the educated." http://www2.irna.ir/en/news/view/line-24/0704067341180434.htm

It's hard to say what effect a US attack could have on the rest of the Islamic world. With US troops already in Afghanistan and Iraq an attack on Iran could trigger an overwhelming holy war against those two nations pushing them into civil war.

There's no way to predict the outcome of an attack on Iranian nuclear sites. Obviously, oil prices will go through the roof, and depending on the severity of Iran's counterattack, it could severely setback global financial markets sending the world into an economic free fall.

The world stage is being set for something major to happen. Is it just another false alarm or could this Iranian/US standoff result in ushering in the rapture of the church and the eventual coming tribulation period?
