Rice: I Will Hold Israel Publicly Responsible For Failure Of ME Summit If They Refuse To Give Up East Jerusalem
Since the US has decided to label the Armenian war deaths of the early 1900s as 'genocide' look for Turkey to head away from the US and in the direction of the Islamic nations and/or Russia. This weekend, they pulled their ambassador from the US and have made it clear that this declaration could hurt US-Turkey relations.
Turkey is a very strategic ally for the United States in an area ( Middle East) that it is not that friendly toward them. Turkish officials also question US loyalty due to their unwillness to confront Kurdish rebels in a country that they control.
This is a huge mistake by the United States and has left the door open for Turkey to take military action against Kurdish rebels camped along the Turkey-Iraq border. For a number of months, Turkish leaders have been asked by the US to show restraint against Kurdish rebel attacks on Turkish border towns but I see that coming to an end. As this article goes to print, Turkish military officials are petitioning Parliament to okay a military operation against rebels stationed in Iraq. Barring a last-minute diplomatic miracle Turkey will be at war with Kurdish rebels in the very near future adding another Middle East iron to the fire.
US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is in the Middle East to try and unravel the stumbling blocks that have for decades kept peace from becoming a reality. She believes that now is the time to create a Palestinian state and said it is the number one priority of the Bush administration.
"Frankly, it's time for the establishment of a Palestinian state," Rice told a news conference with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who she saw on the second of a four-day intense Middle East shuttle diplomacy mission.
"The United States sees the establishment of a Palestinian state and a two-state solution as absolutely essential for the future, not just of Palestinians and Israelis but also for the Middle East and indeed to American interests," she said.
"That's really a message that I think only I can deliver," Rice said, explaining her mission to prepare for the conference to be held in Annapolis, Md. as early as late November. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071015/ap_on_re_mi_ea/mideast_rice_54
Secretary of State Rice also told Palestinian negotiators that she fully expects Israel to turn over sections of East Jerusalem to create a capital for the future Palestinian state or she would publicly place the blame on Israel for the failure of the upcoming peace conference.
According to Palestinian officials, Israeli Prime Minister Olmert has also said that he would be willing to forfeit the Temple Mount complex and place it under Arab sovereignty.
If that's the case, look for the peace plan to be signed sooner than later and the Russian-Arab alliance attack to take place shortly after. But following this attack, Israel will regain complete control of the Temple Mount and rebuild their temple.
I don't look for the Islamic world to allow the rebuilding of a Jewish temple on a supposed Islamic holy site under any circumstance so they will first have to be defeated and their mosque miraculously destroyed. I believe God will do this when He destroys Israel's enemies with a great and mighty earthquake that will leave the Islamic mosque in ruins.
So when will the peace treaty be signed? It could be before US President Bush leaves office, but I believe it's more likely that it will be signed after his time in office is up.
Although Mr. Bush is making a gallant push to bring peace to the Middle East before he leaves I think it will still be on the table come January 2009. If that happens, look for the next US president (likely to be a Democrat) to abandoned the peace process and begin to distance the US from Israel.
But with the ME peace plan in its final stages I look for the European Union to step forward and finally complete the peace process that everyone had given up on.
Certainly, many twists and turns could take place between now and then...and it's entirely possible that peace could prevail within President Bush's window of opportunity. But you can be sure, if Israel turns over sovereignty of the Temple Mount complex to the Arab world they (Israel) won't be building a temple now or in the future without a fight. It will take a shocking miracle defeat (Ezekiel 38 & 39)that will strike fear and terror into the hearts of the Islamic world for them to abandon the Temple Mount...never to return.
Frankly, when this miraculous defeat takes place, I believe many in the Islamic world will abandon their faith and turn to the Lord. At the very least, this will open the door to a future great revival that will not only sweep through Islam but the entire world. But not far behind this great revival will come a time of martyrdom the likes of which the world has never seen. This time of great tribulation and martyrdom is described plainly in Revelation 7:13-17:
"And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes."
Are we on the verge of this day coming to pass before our eyes? Only the Lord knows but I would have to say that we are very close and maybe even at the door!
