Russian General Yuri Baluyevsky's made it clear on Saturday that Russia would use nuclear weapons if they are threatened. This message was taken to be directed toward the West.
"We have no plans to attack anyone, but we consider it necessary for all our partners in the world community to clearly understand ... that to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Russia and its allies, military forces will be used, including preventively, including with the use of nuclear weapons," General Yuri Baluyevsky's said. The Bible says in Ezekiel 38:10-13, Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought: And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates, to take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land. Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, art thou come to take a spoil? Hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? To carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?"
When Russia aligns with Iran and the rest of Islamic world to attack Israel many out of the West will protest but none will intervene. It's clear to me that Russia is putting the West on notice that they would not stop short of using nuclear weapons if they or an ally were threatened. The general also made it clear that they would not rule out preventative strikes.
A senior Republican adviser has stated, at this point in President Bush's term, it would be impossible for him to attack Iran...likely leaving Israel to go it alone.
"If Tehran does not halt its nuclear program, Israel will 'inevitably' wreak mayhem on Iran, wrote Norman Podhoretz in the February edition of Commentary."

From this point on, I do not foresee the US taking on the burden of another Middle Eastern war. Even though military intel commonsense dictates that Iran has resumed its nuclear weapons program the American public would never hear of it and the next president would not dare suggest it.
Whether Israel will launch a preemptive strike is unlikely only because I don't believe the Bible supports it.
One thing is for sure, Russia will soon team up with their Arab allies in an attempt to destroy Israel once and for all. Russian threats direct toward the West and US reluctance to get involved in in other Middle East war will pave the way for this attack to take place.
