In a coordinated U-turn, US and Russia both treat Iran’s space launch as attesting to a nuclear weapons program; 'Iran testing advanced centrifuge'; Western diplomat says new centrifuge able to enrich uranium 2-3 times as fast as old type of machine
"'Al Qaeda is improving the last key aspect of its ability to attack the U.S. — the identification, training and positioning of operatives for an attack in the homeland,' said Michael McConnell, director of national intelligence.'"
"'While increased security measures at home and abroad have caused al Qaeda to view the West, especially the U.S., as a harder target, we have seen an influx of new Western recruits into the tribal areas since mid-2006, ' Mr. McConnell said.'" The Washington Times
US Government security officials revealed that the White House was on the list of their preferred targets.
Tribal areas in Pakistan, under little to no government control, have become a stronghold and safe haven for Al Qaeda terrorists who have waged a war against US positions in Afghanistan. With this increasing threat, I have to believe, that at some point, the US will have to enter Pakistan and deliver a crushing blow to Al Qaeda terrorist camps. If Al Qaeda is successful in carrying out a major attack in the US look for that to become a certainty.
With this said, Pakistan has already made it clear that they would not tolerate foreign troops entering into Pakistani territory and would consider any aggression an act of war.
Certainly, this is a ticking time bomb waiting to explode and most likely will during the tribulation period.
According to the Jerusalem Post, Iran is testing an advanced centrifuge that could enrich uranium two to three times faster than their present technology.
"'The Iranians have begun to run in the advanced model. It's not yet known what stage the testing has reached or exactly how many there are, although it appears to be several dozen,' said a Western diplomat with access to intelligence." Jerusalem Post
A report by the IAEA confirming this information is forthcoming. It is unclear how successful this new centrifuge technology has been for Iran but certainly reveals how serious they are about about becoming a nuclear state.
Of course, Iranian officials maintain that their efforts are strictly for peaceful means, but their recent launch of a space rocket carrying a satellite has raised concerns about their intentions not only in Washington, but Moscow as well. "Tuesday, Feb. 5, in answer to a question, the White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said Iran’s 'space' missile was cause for worry. Such technology, she said, is the same as that needed to deliver a nuclear bomb." Debkafile
