As Global Financial Summit Looms, World Markets Continue To Be In Freefall With No End In Sight
In less than 60 days, the financial world stage has gone from volatile to near panic. Financial experts now estimate that a complete US bailout would cost $3.5+ trillion dollars. And if things weren't bad enough, today, US Secretary Henry Paulson, announced that the Treasury would be abandoning its initial plan to buy back failed mortgages. "Our assessment at this time is that this (the purchase of toxic assets) is not the most effective way to use funds," Paulson told a news conference. Yahoo.com Of course, this sent markets from around the world tumbling and there looks to be no end in sight (Russia's market fell 12% before being halted).
Listed below are a series of excerpts I have written over the last two months chronicling my thoughts as to what I believe the future prophetic implications could be and where this crisis may lead:

Is it a coincidence that the world is in extensive Middle East peace talks, and
at the same time, on the verge of a global economic meltdown? I don't
think so, but it will certainly be interesting to see what direction the world
financial markets take in the coming months. Article#

Is this just another bump in the road of the global financial markets?
Certainly, it's hard to say, but many prophecy experts have believed for decades
that this type of economic meltdown would be one of the precursor signs just
before the ascension of the Antichrist preceded by the rapture of the church.
If this is the case, this disaster is going to get a lot worse.
Whoever this rising star turns out to be, he will come on the scene at a time when the leaders of this world have no answers to the world turmoil... and that doesn't just include economic turmoil. Not only will he bring peace to the Middle East (Daniel 9:27), but he will calm the winds of war that are beginning to mount at a frightening level. Just in recent headlines, Syria is amassing on the Lebanon border in the face of US threats of military action if they attack; Turkey is bombing Kurdish targets in Iraq; there's fear over a possible Hamas takeover of the West Bank and now the Sinai; Russia is staging massive nuclear war games off the coast of Alaska; and Israel could be facing war with Hezbollah, Syria, Iran or all three at any moment. And that doesn't even include present conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.
In the beginning stages of the tribulation period, the Antichrist will bring peace temporarily and stability back to world markets...but in the end...sudden destruction will come plunging the world into a time of fear (Luke 21:26) and darkness (Matthew 24:29; Revelation 16:10) the likes of which has never been encountered nor ever will be in the future. Are we living in the last of the last days? Is the world about ready to
suffer simultaneous global disasters (terrorist attack, plunging world markets,
rapture of the church, threat of major war) in preparation to usher in their

I really look for something earthshaking to take place in the coming weeks and
months starting with an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities. US Senator Biden is
right, the terrorists of the world and rogue nations (Iran, Syria, Pakistan,
Russia, China, etc.), will be ready to test the resolve of a new inexperienced
US president who has never encountered the decisions he will be facing in the
very near future.
One of the problems he will inherit is a struggling US and world economy. Of course, many Bible believing prophecy experts, including myself, have gone on record to say that this global financial catastrophe is no accident. Many believe that the magnitude of this crisis could be the catalyst that ushers in a new global world order that will eventually be ruled by one man.
According to Debkafile, an international military intelligence website, US intelligence has upgraded their timeline for Iran to start work on their first nuclear bomb to early 2009...in fact, just a few weeks after the new US president is sworn in. Article# 833

In a time when a mere mortal man is being called "The One" and
referred to as a messiah figure...here's another endtime bombshell...Britain's
Prime Minister Gordon Brown is calling on the United States and Europe to forge
a new world order.
"The international financial crisis has given world leaders a unique opportunity to create a truly global society, Britain's Prime Minister Gordon Brown will say in a keynote foreign policy speech on Monday."
"In his annual speech at the Lord Mayor's Banquet, Brown -- who has spearheaded calls for the reform of international financial institutions -- will say Britain, the United States and Europe are key to forging a new world order." Reuters Article# 841
Are we on the cusp of one of the single most spectacular events (rapture of the church) in Christian church history? Only the Lord knows for sure...but if I was not ready, I'd certainly take that step today!
