JERUSALEM (CNN) -- U.S. envoy Anthony Zinni met Saturday with chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erakat, continuing his diplomatic mission to lay the foundation for peace in the Middle East.

After his talks with Erakat, Zinni was scheduled to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon on Saturday night at Sharon's Negev farm in southern Israel, Sharon's office said.

Zinni described his meetings so far as "extremely positive," adding that he believed both sides wanted peace.

"I sense everyone is committed to get out of this terrible situation," he said. "I think in the next few days we can start on my mission and the implementation of the plan that we've brought." END

I do not believe that we will see peace at this juncture, although, I do believe it's close. Unfortunately, I think it's a lot of drama at this point. Both sides say they want peace and that maybe true, but I see continued fighting in the region for sometime to the point of all out war. Then we will see peace.

This is what I see for possibly the next few months. But first let me say that all Christians should realize that God has His perfect timing and will dictate the length of this conflict for as long as He wishes. We are in perfect will of God no matter the circumstances.

During Zinni's visit or shortly after he leaves the area, the suicide bombings will continue. I give them a few days to a week before they start up again. Of course, PM Sharon will begin his offensive as before. It will be intensified and stronger than before. This will go on for a week or so amid protest from Arab community. This will either push the Arab world into war with the Israelis or near war.

Here's something that I have been contemplating for a longtime. If this Middle East conflict elevates to the point of a possible major war I believe that the U.S., or more likely, the European Union may step in and make a peace accord with the Israelis to protect them. It could be a peace agreement attached to an alliance to deter the Arabs from attacking Israel. This may postpone war, but it is inevitable. This could push the Arab-Russian attack into the tribulation period.
